16 Week!!

I'm 16 weeks!! On one hand, the time has flown by, but on the other...I feel like I should be much further along than that! I'm finally showing (and I'm convinced it's more baby than fat now!) so I decided to start with the first pictures of Baby Walker! We go back on August 6th to hear the heartbeat again and hopefully SOON after to find out if the little bugger is a girl or boy!! I can't wait...I'm already ansty not knowing! We just got back from a trip to the Poconos with Nate's college friends and they had several little ones there. They were all so adorable and all at different stages, which was fun. There were 2 other girls there that were pregnant and 3 of the girls already have kids so it was nice talking with them and getting good advice! I'm getting more and more excited!!

Baby Walker: 16 weeks!

I'm going to be a MOMMY!!!

So...the time has finally come when I can actually write about something and it mean something on here!! Yes, it's true...Nate and I are having a baby!!
We found out the Sunday before Mother's Day. Neither of us believed it at first, since it didn't take us very long (we are very blessed). I actually ended up taking SIX pregnancy tests cause I couldn't believe it!! I don't even care if you make fun of me, haha. We waited a whole week to tell our parents (I don't know how people wait longer!) so we could tell them on Mother's Day. Well, actually we called Nate's parents since they are in Alaska and won't be home until September. We thought they might be upset if they came home and I was already five months pregnant without telling them. That week was one of the hardest ever!! Not telling my parents and sister something that big was very difficult.
First we told Rick and Heather. We bought them bibs that said Aunt & Uncle. At first they thought they were for their baby (who hopefully is coming very soon!!!) and then my sister and I exchanged that 'sister' look and she knew! They were so excited for us and it was and awesome experience.
The next day was Mother's Day and we decided to open gifts first. My mom opened my sister's and then got to mine. I had done the same thing and bought Grandma and Grandpa bibs for them. Again, she thought they were for the Bixler Baby...and again I gave the look. She was soooo shocked and excited she threw the gift on the ground to hug us!!! And her first sentence was, "Now I get 2 grandbabies!". It was one of the greatest moments of my life I think. The Bixlers were there, and Russ & Kaytee, and Anne. If only the Walkers were there it would have been even more perfect!!!
We were going to wait and tell the rest until the 3 month mark. Yea, that lasted ONE day. I don't know how people do that!!! Pretty soon everyone close to us knew and were so excited!
Yesterday was really special to us cause we got to hear the heartbeat of our baby. I was just aching to hear it and knew I would feel so much better. It took about 5 seconds (felt like an hour!!) for her to find it, but there it was, loud and clear!! It was such an unreal moment. I cried and even Nate got misty-eyed!! Which is pretty unusual if you know Nate :) It just makes it that much more real that we are going to be parents.
I feel so incredibly blessed to be given this gift. All I have ever wanted to do/be in life was have children and be a mom. I have seen the joy and hardships that many people have faced and I will never ever take this gift for granted. I'm so excited for this child cause he/she (and yes, we are finding out!!) is going to have the best family and friends any child could ask for! Here are some pictures of the day we told our families. Stay tuned for more updates!!!
